Greener city

Dear Portsmouth City Councillors, please bring in, or instigate, a massive tree-planting program in Portsmouth and Southsea.

Ask all residents with a garden to plant saplings or seeds and let them have these for free or a small sum.

Instigate tree planting along as many roads as possible, in particular the pollution hotspots. Trees will be a lifesaver for the city. This will be much easier than trying to get motorists to give up their cars and will also help to counteract the rise in population of an already denselypopulated city.

A re-wilding area could be created on one of the commons to encourage bees and butterflies.
