Dredging up noise nightmare at quay
So disturbed were residents by the noise of a dredger working to clear a deep water channel at Havant Quay in Langstone Harbour, that a petition signed by more than 100 people in Bedhampton had been sent to Havant Urban Council.
Their main request was that the company operating the dredger should work only in the daytime and never between the hours of 10pm and 7am.
Letters had also been sent to the local MP Ian Lloyd, to individual urban district councillors and to the harbourmaster of Langstone Harbour.
