Generation have mixed fortunes in matches

Generation Jacks had mixed fortunes in Division One of the Portsmouth Table Tennis League.

They beat Soberton 6-4 to boost their challenge for honours.

Dave Woodacre won another hat-trick of matches to keep his unbeaten singles tag for Soberton.

However, Josh Cooksley, Adam Hyde and Danny Lucking all won twice for the Jacks.

The following evening, Generation Jacks were beaten 7-3 by Portsmouth Purple - a win that puts them odds-on favourites for the title.

Adam Proszko won a treble (also 100 per cent) while handy reserve Christy Pin took a pair and Tim Hampton a single.

Tom Chamberlai­n won a double for the beaten outfit and Danny Lucking won once.

Purple also defeated Knowle Puffins 8-2.

Tim Hampton secured a hat-trick, along with Dylan Linsell, while Stephen Nelson Smith took a brace having lost out to Ricky Hensman.

Portsmouth Black won 8-2 at the expense of Portsmouth Crimson.

Kane Beale and Christy Pin won maximums.

The only singles won by Crimson was Rob Lewis’ defeat of Gordon Giles.

Emsworth Eagles shared the spoils with Generation Kings for whom Charlie Childs was unbeaten.

Eagles' best player was Paul Fitzgerald with a double.

Alan Gess and Callum Ship added one each and there were wins for Kings pair Colin Jones and Critian Fetcu.

In Division Two, Phoenix Satellites are top with eight wins from as many matches.

They beat Portsmouth Cherry 7-3 with a treble by Duncan Poole.

Ashley Knott responded by getting the better of Mike Turner and Richard Stone.

Knowle Green beat Portsmouth Red 7-3 with three wins by Dave Edge, plus a couple from John Amey.

Billy Blades played well for the Reds, picking up a pair.

Avenue Dodos moved into mid-table after edging out Knowle Valiant 6-4.

Keith Ginn won an excellent hat-trick, supported by Tony Dummer (one) and Phil Stride (one), plus the doubles.

For Valiant, Ray Jarrat won two, with Geraldine and Steve Bell taking a single apiece.
