Bangladesh connections are made stronger
ECONOMIC ties have been improved between the Solent region and Bangladesh, following a recent business trip.
A representative from the Solent Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) accompanied the Portsmouth Bangladesh Business Association (PBBA) on a trade, investment and education mission.
It comes after high-ranking Bangladeshi officials visited Portsmouth earlier in the year, with intentions outlined for a stronger trade partnership.
James Ford, Solent LEP growth manager, was the one to make the trip.
He said: ‘The Bangladeshi ministries, businesses and chambers have been so welcoming.
‘International trade and foreign investment is considered to be vital in its endeavour to become a robust economy in South Asia and promoting the Solent's assets here is key to both regions' economic futures.’
Other visitors included representatives from the university, Portsmouth International Port and Portico.
