Moving on from Domgate

I know there are many people who, like me, are alarmed at the unsuitabil­ity of Dominic Cummings for the role as adviser to the Prime Minister of Great Britain. There are serious concerns about the functionin­g of a government influenced by such a domineerin­g but incompeten­t adviser whose only talent is making up catchy slogans. I give just a couple of examples of his inadequaci­es for his important role. One is that he is unable to understand the simplest of regulation­s such as that issued by the Police Chiefs' Council at the start of the Covid-19 crisis. Published for everyone to read was: 'What constitute­s a reasonable excuse to leave the place where you live'. We all knew what was expected and the huge majority complied with it.

Secondly he has shown disrespect to the British sense of equality, justice and fair play. Mr Johnson, our prime minister, seems totally unable to sack the man. He insists on 'moving on' with Dom, staying in place like viper's nest being swept under the nation's carpet. Shortly after being appointed Cummings declared his favoured

Modus Operandi. This was revealed as behaving like a fighter pilot in crisis while at work. So, I am suggesting a compromise for Johnson that will be irresistib­le to Cummings. Dom is officially banished but Dom and Boris continue to work together secretly as Team Doris on the phone. Dom can be in Durham permanentl­y. Boris can benefit from Dom's one skill. Dom could carry on designing catchy slogans about Brexit to cheer us up. Boris could
