Drive-in cinema is coming to the county

GRAB your cherry cola and your varsity jacket because a drive-in cinema is coming to Hampshire later this year.

Movie fans will be able to live out this iconic American experience in Southampton between September 24 and September 27.

It will show a range of movies from all-time classics, to gritty superhero tales, so there will be something for everyone.

Suzuki’s @TheDriveIn will be coming to 12 cities around the country between July and October – including Southampton and Brighton.

Time Out London reports that the plan is to set up an LED screen and for cars to be parked two-metres apart, as per social distancing advice.

There will be a food-delivery app so that visitors can enjoy snacks and drinks with the movies, with orders being delivered by ‘rollerwaiters’.

The drive-in cinema will also have other entertainment on offer such as silent car discos, bingo and stand-up comedy.
