Oxford dealt Holland

-

POMPEY’s potential play-off opponents Oxford United have been dealt a blow ahead of the season’s likely resumption.

Promising winger Nathan Holland has seen his loan stay at the Kassam Stadium curtailed after being recalled by West Ham.

Holland has returned to the Premier League outfit after impressing in a 12-game stay, scoring three goals.

The 21-year-old picked up a hamstring injury in March and, although he could’ve been fit enough to return, it’s now been decided he shouldn’t be risked as and when the campaign restarts.

Karl Robinson’s side could well lie in wait for Pompey this season, with the Us set to be the opposition if the season is curtailed and league placings decided by unweighted points per game.

That remains the stated option by the EFL at present if the campaign can’t be decided on the pitch.

That looks likely to be decided at next week’s key meeting among League One clubs, which will take place on Tuesday.
