The good and the bad recalled ...

-

The News looks back at Lee Molyneaux’s season in charge at Gosport Borough.

Three to remember ... 1 Gosport 3 Taunton 0, August 10: In Molyneaux’s first league game, Borough trounced a Taunton side who were among the pre-season promotion favourites. Theo Lewis marked his debut with a third minute opener with George Barker and Marley Ridge also netting.

2 Tiverton 2 Gosport 3, November 30: Borough stunned high-flying Tivvy at Ladysmead. They led 3-0 through Charlie Kennedy, Rory Williams and Sam Argent before surviving a late fightback.

3 Gosport 1 Truro 0, February 8: A goal from Theo Lewis, below, four minutes into the second half gave Borough victory over a Truro side that were top of the table when the season was halted.

And three to forget ... 1 Gosport 0 Beaconsfield 0, October 22: A poor result against a Beaconsfield side who arrived bottom of the table.

2 Gosport 4 Dorchester 4, December 10: Gosport needed a 95th minute Ryan Woodford leveller to earn a point against the lowly Magpies. There were slight mitigating circumstances, in that Borough played most of the game with only 10 men after an early red card for George Barker. Numerical parity was restored on 73 minutes, though, when Dorchester keeper Nick Hutchings was sent off.

3 Gosport 0 Hartley Wintney 1, January 1: A miserable start to 2020 as the north Hampshire club - entrenched in the bottom half of the table - score after five minutes through Joe Grant and hold onto their lead.
