FOUR men have been arrested by police over the alleged rape of a teenager in a Southsea alleyway.

Desperate screams from the woman, 19, were heard by locals who raced to the scene in an alleyway between Fisherman’s Kitchen and Riva 6 Beauty, Clarendon Road, at around 10pm on Saturday.

Following investigations, police are now able to confirm they have made four arrests.

A 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of rape and remains in custody, police said yesterday.

Three other men – aged 20, 25, and 37, who were arrested on suspicion of rape – have been released without charge, but remain under investigation.

At this time detectives are not linking the rape to the serious sexual assault of a 40-year-old woman on Southsea Common on August 3.

Detective Inspector Emma Crute is leading the probe.

She said: ‘We are continuing to carry out enquiries and I’m still keen to hear from any residents who may have heard or seen something that could assist our
