Dos brings in two more at Hawks

-

Hawks have completed the signing of two more players.

Boss Paul Doswell has brought in former Southampton Academy midfielder Sam Dowridge after a successful two-week trial.

He will be loaned out straight away to Isthmian Premier League club Bognor Regis in order to gain first team minutes.

Doswell has also brought goalkeeper Joe Tupper in on a permanent basis.

The former Crystal Palace Academy shot-stopper had initially signed in July as cover for Ross Worner ahead of the National League South play-off semi-final with Dartford.

Doswell had been running the rule over Pompey keeper Duncan Turnbull, who played in friendly wins at AFC Totton and Horndean, but decided against bringing him in.

Hawks’ season is due to start on Saturday, October 3 with an FA Cup second qualifying round tie.

Their National League South fixtures for 2020/21 are due to be released next Tuesday.

A goal from former Hawks midfielder Marley Ridge gave Moneyfields victory in their final pre-season friendly at Surrey club Westfield last night.

Moneys’ first competitive game of the new season is next Tuesday against Hampshire Premier League club Denmead in the delayed 2019/20 Portsmouth Senior Cup quarter-final.

They will then host Camberley in the preliminary round of the FA Cup on September 12 after they beat Wessex Leaguers Blackfield & Langley on penalties last night.

US Portsmouth completed a successful pre-season friendly programme with a 4-0 win at Littlehampton last night.

James Franklyn netted in each half with George Root and Andy Todd also scoring.

It was US’ fifth win in six friendlies, and they now start their Wessex League Division 1 campaign this Saturday at Laverstock & Ford.
