A ROUND-UP of some of the recent cases before Portsmouth magistrate­s.

■ Lauren Elliott, 25, of Beach Road, Southsea, admitted attempting to steal food from Co-op in Southsea on February 25.

She admitted assault by beating on the same day. Magistrate­s imposed a 12-month conditiona­l discharge with £85 costs and £50 compensati­on.

■ Carter King, 21, of Lawrence Road, Southsea, admitted assault by beating at the Ibis hotel in Winston Churchill Avenue, Portsmouth, on June 5. Magistrate­s imposed a 12-month conditiona­l discharge with £22 surcharge and £85 costs.

■ David Davis, 51, of Waverley Road, Southsea, admitted attempting to steal food from Co-op in Southsea on February 25 and assault by beating. Magistrate­s imposed a 12-month conditiona­l discharge with £85 costs and £50 compensati­on.

■ Lynette Hoare, 61, of West Street, Fareham, admitted entering Aldi in Fareham on September 8 flouting a restrainin­g order. She admitted flouting a suspended sentence for breaching a restrainin­g order, assault by beating and causing fear of violence. Hoare was jailed for seven days.

■ Jamie Lewis, 38, of Dunsmore Close, Southsea, admitted jointly attempting to burgle the ice cream hut at the Pyramids Centre on August 3 last year. He was fined £83 with £100 compensati­on to pay. He must pay a £32 surcharge and £40 costs.

■ Liam Fisher, 32, of HMP Winchester, admitted harassment of a woman between March 1 and 6. He was jailed for eight weeks and handed a restrainin­g order banning him from contacting the victim for a year.

■ Cally-Ann Kimber, 26, of Hursley Road, Leigh Park, admitted criminal damage to a windows at a house on March 30. She must pay £298.65 compensati­on.

Kimber must also pay £150 compensati­on after admitting damaging a Ford Focus on April 30. Magistrate­s imposed a 12-month conditiona­l discharge.

■ Dylan Proudley, 21, of the Ibis hotel in Winston Churchill Avenue, Portsmouth, was jailed for 11 weeks. He admitted stealing Slimfast from Lloyds Pharmacy in Somers Road on July 24. Proudley admitted stealing meat from Sainsbury’s in Guildhall Walk on July 8 and 6.

He admitted assault on July 8 at the store, and provoking fear of violence on July 6. Proudley admitted stealing meat from the same store on July 6 and 3.

Proudley admitted stealing an RSPCA charity box on February 18 in Elm Grove, Hayling Island, and assaulting an emergency worker, a police officer, on the same day.
