Trades to play at Hawks’ Westleigh Park

AFC Trades have become the latest club to sign a groundshar­ing agreement to play on Hawks’ new 3G pitch at Westleigh Park.

The Portsmouth Sunday League side will be playing all home games at the National League South venue, starting with their Division 5 game against Sheperd’s Crook on Sunday, October 11 (1.30am).

That will be the second competitiv­e game on the newlylaid artificial turf following Hawks’ game against Maidstone the previous day.

AFC Trades are currently top of their division on goal difference after beating Portsville Park 4-1 - their third successive win.

Charlie Smith (2), Harry Gregory and Brendan Ebireri were on target.

AC FC have also won their opening three games, the latest a 1-0 success against AFC Eastney thanks to a Clayton Wylie goal.

Hatton Rovers’ goalkeeper saved an 87th minute penalty to give his side a 4-3 win over AFC Prospect Farm Rangers in a wind-affected game at the Rugby Camp.

Prospect raced into a 3-0 half-time with goals from Ryan Tout, Lee Callaghan and Lewis MacLean. But, with the wind in their favour, Hatton hit back with four goals in 30 minutes to turn the game on its head.

Harry Knight (2), Matt Langton and Ben Searle were on target.

Bar 8-2. Barry Jeans (2), Andy Turnbull and Jordan Chapell completed the rout.

Bailey Newbury fired a hat-trick as AFC Leigh Park drubbed Westleigh 8-2 in the only Division 2 game to take place.
