Sweet 16 as Portsbridg­e go on a goal spree

It was a case of sweet 16 for Portsbridg­e United in the first round of the Portsmouth & District FA Intermedia­te Sunday Cup.

They boasted three hat-trick heroes in a 16-0 demolition of Gosport United, writes PAUL OASTLER.

Tom Ludford led the rout with five goals while Brendon Wall (4) and Lewis Brooks (3) also joined in the spree.

John Mabe struck twice with Joe Parkins and Jack Woods also netting.

Freehouse won 6-1 at Shelford Rovers with goals from Jack Davies, Luke Hobby, Luke Baker, Alfie Fisher, Ian Fisher and Terry Boscoe.

Freehouse Reserves are also through after Paul Baker, Jay Grist, Ryan Jenkins and sub Ross Phelps netted in a 4-0 victory over Samba.

A Bayley Whitcombe double gave Seagull a 2-0 victory over AC Meon.

Old Boys Athletic caned Cross

Jameson Arms staged a superb comeback against Milton Rovers in Division 1.

Milton stormed into a 4-0 lead inside half an hour, but Arms stormed back to earn a point in a 4-4 draw.

Jake Knight reduced the arrears before half-time with Liam Kyle and Fred Penfold adding further goals after the break.

Freddie Kemp then came off the bench to head in the equaliser.

Wicor Mill, the top flight leaders, also drew 4-4 with Port South.

Reece Lewis fired a hat-trick for South, with Nyam Mcleod also on target, with Josh Holmes, Jack Mitchell, Bailey Steele and Bradley Stokes scoring for Wicor.
