Man charged with burglary
A MAN has been charged following a spate of burglaries in Southsea.
James Peter Bartlett, 43, of Berkshire Close, Landport, has been charged with three offences of burglary and three offences of fraud by false representation.
It follows a police investigation into three burglaries on properties on Fawcett Road, Orchard Road, and St Andrew’s Road in Southsea.
In Fawcett Road a person tried to get in through the back door via a dog flap, while on Orchard Road a wallet and bank cards that were later used were stolen from the property. Cash, electronics and jewellery were also stolen from a flat on St Andrews Road.
All of the cases took place on Saturday, August 15.
Bartlett appeared at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, October 6 where he was bailed to appear at Portsmouth Crown Court on Monday, November 9.
