The wrong question

-

I’m not sure why Matt MohanHickson ( The Millennial View, November 17) feels it is worth asking the question: ‘Is a mandatory vaccination for the greater good of all?

The questions should really be: how safe is the vaccine?

How sure are we of any long-term issues or side-effects?

Where does ‘mandatory’ start and end?

Nick Haines wrote in The News about ‘Lessons from the past’ with reference to the thalidomide scandal also noting at the speed the vaccine has travelled through the testing system, and rightly so.

We have little choice in our lives these days. Bit by bit, day by day, another little chip is made on history, freedom of speech, thought patterns, socialising, travel, education, sport and work, so the word ‘mandatory’ for me is even more dangerous than the vaccine being offered.

Dean Kimber North Shore, Hayling Island

will take personal charge of EU negotiations.’ Really? Lord Frost just an apparition, then?

January 2020, The Sun: ‘Boris now in personal charge of gang issues.’ Really? Surely Pritti Patel’s job?

January 27, 2020, The Times: ‘Boris in charge now of post Brexit trade talks.’ Really? Still Lord Frost in talks with Barnier?

February 29, Daily Express: ‘Boris to be personally in charge of Covid outbreak.’ Really? Thought that was the health minister?

April 1, The Times: ‘Boris to taker personal charge of Covid testing.’ So, this shambles is his fault?

The Times: ‘Boris to take personal charge of Brexit.’ Thought he was doing that in December 2019 and January 2020? Daily Telegraph, June 2: ‘Boris to take direct control of coronavirus.’ Thought he was doing that on February 29 and April 1?

So, Covid, Covid-testing and Brexit – it’s all his fault, then?
