Ex-Hawks ace Prior nets 12th league goal

Ex-Hawks striker Jason Prior scored his 12th league goal of the season on Tuesday - but Dorking were unable to reclaim top spot in the National League South.

Prior was on target as Dorking took a 2-0 lead at home to Maidstone, who hit back to draw

2-2.

Four of the scheduled NLS matches on Tuesday were called off - three due to positive Covid-19 test results.

Billericay became the latest club to suffer, a single positive test resulting in Tuesday’s game with . Chelmsford and the match with Dartford on December 12 being postponed.

Ebbsfleet’s game at Slough was the second of three matches the

Kent club have called off due to a number of positive tests.

Welling’s game at Braintree was also off after positive tests in the Wings camp - one of four successive league games they have been forced to postpone.

In addition, Dulwich’s home game with St Albans was called off due to an issue with the floodlight­s at Champion Hill.

The Wessex League restarts after lockdown this Saturday with two league games and other member clubs, including Fareham, in FA Vase action.

Thirty six of the 39 Wessex clubs across the two divisions are currently placed under tier 2 restrictio­ns.

That will limit the sale of food and drink at those grounds while the three Isle of Wight-based teams - Cowes Sport, Newport IOW and East Cowes Victoria - are in tier 1.

Clubs within the Wessex League under tier two restrictio­ns should liaise with their local authority over the sale of refreshmen­ts on match-days.

Fareham and AFC Portcheste­r return to Wessex action next

Tuesday, with Baffins welcoming Horndean in the delayed 2019/20 Portsmouth Senior Cup the following evening.
