Partnership set to boost children’s charity

-

A CHARITY offering camps for children with serious illnesses has been boosted by a transport partnership.

Havant children’s charity Over The Wall will be supported by XPO Logistics, which will fund the delivery of equipment, materials and resources across the UK.

In 2020, XPO agreed to transport the residential camp equipment to venues across the UK at no cost. However, these camps were unfortunately cancelled following the outbreak of Covid-19.

After the cancellations, Over The Wall developed a unique virtual, interactive online platform called Camp in the Cloud that brought the joy of the residential camps into each family's home.

XPO has now agreed to fund the delivery of 1,000 of the Camp in the Cloud Seriously Fun boxes containing games, t-shirts, puzzles, activity materials and other resources, before supporting the physical camps in 2022.

Kevin Mathieson, chief executive of Over The Wall, said: ‘This partnership means children will continue to experience the joy of camp, both in their homes and also in venues, when our residential camps reopen.’

Dan Myers, managing director of transport at XPO Logistics, said: ‘We're proud to be part of this inspiring partnership for a great cause.’
