For Russian royal fans

-

For enthusiasts of the Russian Princess Catherine Yourievsky (1880-1959), who lived and is buried on Hayling Island, I have unintentionally found references to her in a recently published book, which might be of interest.

Henry Chips Channon – The Diaries 1918-38 (2021) includes an entry on Saturday, August 24, 1935 in which the diarist motored to see her at The Haven, Sinah Lane but she was out. He fills out that day’s diary entry in his own particular style with details of her life.

Channon did catch up with the Princess a few days later at Craignal Lodge, Bognor, when they lunched together.
