Portsmouth News

Dear Reader

-

HELLO and welcome to Thursday’s bumper edition of The News.

Asyouwouldhave seen from our front page, holiday-makers may soon be able to set sail to a foreign destination from Portsmouth as a ferry firm looks to launch a service to Portugal to capitalise on the country’s green light travel status.

The full story is on page 7. Today means your weekly dose of The Guide withall you need to know about what’s on in the region – including an interesting interview with band St Vincent, who releases her sixthalbum Daddy’s Home tomorrow.

And with pubs now open, (it gets even better from next Monday when we can sit in!!) the Dish Detective samples the food at the Cricketers Inn in Curdridge, which you can read about on page 28.

Pompey fans are still reflecting on a season of disappointment after failing to make the League One play-offs, and chief executive Mark Catlin has spoken out, admitting it’s not good enough. You can read his thoughts on pages 46&47.

Take care and we’ll see you tomorrow. Mark Waldron Editor
