Thousands support high street as shops reopen

-

SHOPPERS are being urged to stay safe when heading to the high street.

Tristan Samuels, director of regeneration at Portsmouth City Council said: ‘It's great to see that Portsmouth residents have been out supporting businesses in our high streets safely and responsibly.

‘When many shops reopened we saw an amazing rise in footfall in the city centre of over 100 per cent, with 27,350 heading to Commercial Road on Monday, April 12. We'd urge people to keep doing what they're doing, supporting local businesses, using our high streets and being kind.’
