Supermarket looks for groups to give donations

-

A DISCOUNT supermarket is calling on charities, community groups and food banks in Portsmouth to register to receive regular surplus food donations from its Gamble Road store.

As part of

Aldi’s partnership with Neighbourly, a community engagement platform that links businesses to food banks and charities, over 900 of Aldi’s UK stores donate surplus food to good causes all year round.

However, the Gamble Road store in Portsmouth is looking to support more.

Organisations can collect fresh and ambient food products that are near the end of their shelf life.

Mary Dunn, from Aldi UK, said: ‘Our food donation scheme plays a vital role in ensuring that fresh and healthy food is accessible to those in need all year round.’
