College where Sixth Form is busy, challenging and fulfilling

-

Earlier this year, the historic boarding school Winchester College announced that it would offer day places for boys and girls in its Sixth Form from September 2022. Tom Quayle, Head of Sixth Form, gives an insight in to what life is like at this unique school.

‘We believe that Sixth Form should be the most interesting, enriching and academicallydemanding years of your school life; and there is no better place to spend them than in the beautiful surroundings at Winchester College.

‘Life here is busy, challenging and fulfilling: pupils learn well beyond the exam syllabus; have access to incredible facilities, university and careers preparation; and the freedom to explore who they are and what they’re interested in.

‘At the heart of our academic ethos is a belief that there is life – and learning – beyond exams.

‘Pupils are taught what isn’t tested in exams, preparing them to thrive in the modern world and to contribute to a global society.

‘This is what our pupils go on to do: studying at world-class institutions all over the globe – going on to become leaders in their chosen career and giving back to society.

‘We welcome bright, inquisitive pupils, irrespective of background and there is a substantial bursaries programme, which can cover 100% of fees and costs.’
