Bernie is thrilled when she and Dev go public as a couple but her joy is shortlived when her secret deal is almost exposed. She buys Joseph’s silence with a video game, but when Evelyn finds it, Bernie has to reveal the truth. However, when Joseph vanishes, she and Chesney are hauled in front of the police, where she admits everything. Elsewhere, Sally is taken down a peg or two when she accuses Maria of sending the compromising picture of her to the Gazette, but the real villain turns out to be someone else entirely. Sally vows to give up politics for Tim, who is nervous about going under the knife but still sceptical about her pledge.

Meanwhile, Fay makes a shocking confession, Daisy watches from afar as Daniel romances Lydia, David tears a strip off Max after missing a consent workshop, and Jenny forges a truce with Carla over Leo.
