£45m FOR UKRAINE
The UK is providing £45m to help the most vulnerable people in Ukraine. The money will go to UN agencies and charities giving aid and supporting survivors of sexual violence.
CANCER FAT LINK
More than 1,300 prostate cancer deaths could potentially be prevented every year in the UK if the average man was not overweight, an Oxford University study suggests. In a study of 218,000 men, they had a 6% higher risk of dying of prostate cancer for every additional 4in on their waistline.
CHEAPER POLICIES
The amount paid by motorists for insurance fell to its lowest level in more than six years in the first quarter of 2022 to an average of £416, according to the Association of British Insurers. This is a 5% drop from the same period in 2021.
FITNESS SHORTFALL
Middle-aged people and women are the least likely to exercise, according to a large study by Essex University. The research, involving more than 250,000 adults, suggests that as few as one in 20 may be doing the right amount of exercise.
