Thousands lose power for an hour

THOUSANDS of homes were left without power after a fault yesterday afternoon.

The power outage affected homes in Petersfield and other parts of Hampshire for more than an hour.

On Twitter, Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks said: ‘We were made aware of a fault on our extra high voltage network in Hampshire at 2.55pm today.’

They tweeted again shortly 4pm to say: ‘Power has now been restored to all customers following a fault on our extra high voltage network in Hampshire, affecting

Fleet, Petersfield, Haslemere and surrounding areas.’

They also apologised for any inconvenience.
