Big Picnics in county parks for Jubilee
PARKS across Hampshire are set to host Big Picnic in the Park celebrations over the Jubilee bank holiday weekend.
Hampshire County Council’s country parks will join in on the national celebrations as part of The Big Lunch on June 4 and June 5, providing music, entertainment and fun activities for children.
On June 4, Staunton Country Park will also be livescreening the national event – the Platinum Party at Buckingham Palace.
The Big Lunch commemorates the 70-year reign of Her Majesty The Queen and aims to help communities to come together in a spirit of fun, friendship and celebration.
Cllr Keith Mans, leader of Hampshire County Council, said: ‘We are very fortunate to have such wonderful country parks in which to host The Big Lunch celebrations. We hope many people will get together over the special Jubilee Bank Holiday weekend and come along and enjoy the fun and entertainment planned at Hampshire’s country parks.’
