The rubbing of hands

-

Why is it, that when our vote is required to replace or re-install whichever party wants to run our city council there are always leaflets being stuffed through the letterbox that abound with promises along with the life history, family life and education of whoever wants our vote. All that's missing is the name of their dog.

I don't want to know which school he went to, or the name of his pet duck, unless it has an input, like all those other ducks already in parliament acting quackers.

But seriously, whoever gets elected, remember what you've promised. Although I'm at a loss to understand why the Conservative

Party wants to increase the number food pantries.

If our incomes, pensions and benefits were better we wouldn't need a pantry.

The old age pension is the worst in Europe. We were supposed to get a rise in line with inflation, but the Conservative government told us it couldn't afford it, but found enough to give themselves a massive increase.

The government gives away billions of pounds in foreign aid, to countries who don't need it, like China and India. Both have space programmes. That money would be better spent on families who live in poverty in our own country.
