1984 - LA Olympics

Steve Ovett was forced to drop out of the 1500 metres final at the Los Angeles Olympic Games. Jose Manuel Abascal of Spain (219) is pictured leading the field, but he eventually finished third, with Sebastian Coe (359) coming through to defend the title he won in Moscow in 1980. Fellow Brit Steve Cram took silver.
