Thin Lizzy
I bought The News on Saturday, May 7 because the top right of the front page had an announcement of something inside bound to be of interest: 'Thin Lizzy's Portsmouth jaunts remembered.'
I went to a Thin Lizzy concert featuring Snowy White.
One thing I tend to mention about that concert is Phil Lynott reflected light from high up, using the metal plate on his bass guitar.
I very clearly remember receiving the light in my face, and I in fact - feeling self-conscious - lowered my head.
Indeed, the article refers to this theatrical moment at Lizzy concerts!
Quote: 'With his black leather trousers and a blue shirt, he was using his trademark Fender
Precision with the mirror scratchplate, picking out all the good-looking girls with the mirrored light reflection - and he could certainly pick 'em!'
I was still under 21 and maybe at that age and at that height at the back looked girlishly slight.
I wonder if the celebrated musician thought I WAS a girl!
In the 'light' of the quote, one feels almost flattered.
