£1m available for charities from financial firm
A FINANCIAL services group is giving away over £1m to UK charities with the return of its Movement for Good Awards.
Set up by Benefact Group, it means residents in Hampshire can now nominate a charity close to their hearts to receive a financial boost.
Some 500 charities around the UK will each receive £1,000 during the campaign.
Since the initiative began in 2019, more than 12,000
Hampshire residents have nominated causes they care about, leading to the Movement for Good Awards gifting £51,000 to charities across the county.
Gosport and Fareham charity, Acts of Kindness, The New Theatre Royal and Invest in Me Research benefited from the funding last year, following overwhelming public support.
Anyone can nominate a registered charity for the chance for the cause to receive £1,000.
The first 250 winners will be announced in June, with a further 250 winners announced in September. Winners will be drawn at random and the more times a charity isnominatedthemorechance it has of being selected.
Mark Hews, group chief executive of Benefact Group, said: ‘We’re delighted to announce the launch of Benefact Group’s Movement for
Good Awards for the fourth year running. We were thrilled to receive so many nominations from the public last year and this year we are encouraging even more people to nominate a good cause they love. Our Movement for Good Awards will help charities change lives for the better.’
