Venues bid for cash pot

THE MP for Gosport is calling on museums, galleries, libraries, and cultural venues across the area to bid for a slice of £16.9m to open up access to culture.

Museums can enter this second round of funding from May 9 and bid for grants of between £50,000 and £5 million.

31 museums across England were supported by the fund in its first round, including Gosport Diving Museum.

Ms Dinenage said: ‘Gosport’s rich heritage is showcased in our local museums. They are something to be proud of and we must preserve them for future generations to enjoy.

‘This Conservative Government is levelling up access to culture across the country – safeguarding the best of our local history so that wherever people live they can be proud of our shared heritage.’
