A children’s charity that is supporting families in crisis has described the levels of severe hardship it is seeing as being “among the worst” it can remember. Action for Children insisted the Government can do “so much more ” for people who are struggling the most.

COSTS HIT HEALTH

More than half of people say they have worse health due to high living costs, with medics reporting some patients cannot afford to look after themselves. A YouGov poll of 2,001 people by the Royal College of Physicians found 55% felt their health had got worse owing to high heating costs and soaring food bills.
