Water fight! And Brindley gets soaked

-

Greeting’s Chipsters everywhere! How has everybody been enjoying their week so far?

I had been watching the sun enviously from the classroom window every day so when the weekend came, me and Brindley didn’t waste one minute inside.

We had spent the whole of Saturday in the garden playing games, swingball, ring toss and hop scotch to name a few, so we had tired ourselves out and flopped into a heap on the grass.

After a few minutes catching our breath, I noticed Brindley had shut his eyes and was warming his fur in the sun - paws outstretched and tail twitching. I seized the opportunity. I quietly snuck into the shed, grabbed my water pistol, slowly turned the rusty garden tap, filled it up and yelled, ‘WATER FIGHT!’

He sprang into action, dashing inside, rummaging around to find his own watery weapon of choice and heading to the tap.

Like the true sportsman I am, I let him do all this before squirting him, but as soon as he screwed his gun shut it was game on!

Normally Brindley is not too happy about wetting his fur but on this occasion he was having too much fun to notice and I must say – he was on a roll!

One minute he was jumping out of the bins, the next he was getting me from behind the bushes, I was dripping from my ears to my toes.

Although mum put an end to our fight before we could crown a winner. When she came out to check on us, me and Brindley – thinking she was our opponent – squirted her right on the nose!

Chip chip for now, your old friend Chipper.
