Royal balcony
The Platinum Jubilee in June is an historic celebration unknown before in the long history of the kingdom.
As with any celebration, reflection often proceeds the joyful occasion.
I made the canvas Buckingham Palace balcony picture (right) as a thanksgiving for the 70-year reign. I received assistance from my mother with the fringe and tassels of the balcony cloth.
The canvas extends its purpose as a mark of respect and thanksgiving to members of the royal family from past years both near and distant who have supported the Queen with her huge and heavy task as monarch.
It conveys in a pictorial way both thanks to the Queen for her long reign and acknowledgement of the support provided by those illustrated here.

I have included
Prince William of Gloucester, the Duke of Gloucester, Princess Alice of Gloucester, Princess Margaret, Prince Phillip, (the Queen), the Queen Mother, Princess Alice of Athlone, Princess Marina, Princess of Wales, Princess Mary, Queen Mary and Princess Marie Louise.
I thought readers might remember some of these past royals or be inspired to do their own balcony pictures.
