‘DOCS LET DOWN’

The Government “failed in its duty of care” to doctors during the pandemic, the British Medical Associatio­n said, highlighti­ng the lack of personal protective equipment in the early stages. Four in five (81%) doctors said they did not feel adequately protected then.

OVERWEIGHT BRITS

More than 42 million adults in the UK will be overweight or obese by 2040, according to new projection­s. Analysis by Cancer Research UK shows 71% of us will be overweight or obese, with 36% obese.

407 ‘NEVER EVENTS’

Some 407 “Never Events” – things so serious they should never happen – were recorded in the NHS in England from April 2021 until March 2022. The year before there were 364. There were 98 cases of a foreign object being left inside a patient.
