Now that’s what I would call a proper bank holiday weekend

-

Wow, what a bank holiday weekend! Firstly, it was an historic weekend, one that was truly breathtaking to watch - the King's Coronation.

But secondly, and albeit just as important, we went on our first caravan holiday as a family. Naturally, a caravan holiday to Weymouth doesn’t quite live up to the £250 million fanfare that was put on for the King - but, you know, to us it was pretty up there.

Let's address said King's Coronation; I woke up to Harley at 7am and went into the lounge to see my mum already watching the build up on the TV. I think we stopped watching it around 2pm.

Haven put on a big screen in the ‘Live Lounge’ where all the evening entertainment is and we took Harley along where they were making paper crowns and decorating crafts - basically, an attempt to distract the children so the adults could watch the telly.

I have to say I thought it was superb. When I woke up in the morning it was absolutely hammering it down with rain, so I was pleasantly surprised that in London it wasn’t that bad at all - I know it did rain, but it didn’t seem as bad as it was in Weymouth.

Camilla looked stunning and I think she had the right demeanour about her all day - she smiled more than the King (not hard) and genuinely seemed humbled by the public's reaction to her and her husband.

She looked a bit like a Cheshire cat when she was crowned - she simply couldn’t not smile.

I think the majority of the public have accepted her now - or at least accepted her part in the Royal family. And, to be fair, she’s earnt that respect. I know many will disagree, but sometimes you have to forgive and see people for who they are and not just their mistake. If nothing else, she’s stood by her man through thick and thin, rightly or wrongly, and he’s lucky to have such a class act by his side.

I was disappointed that Prince Harry made such a fleeting visit - apparently around 28 hours in total - in and out. Along with his uncle, Prince Andrew, Harry didn’t make a balcony appearance either. I wasn’t entirely surprised by this, but it’s a sad state of affairs when your son isn’t by your side for one of the biggest days of your life.

The Coronation was fit for a King and a King is what we have now. I hope the country did the late Queen proud.
