We’ve gone and done it – we’ve just bought yet another caravan

-

We’ve only gone and bought another caravan. Well I say we, it was Sarah! She saw it on Facebook and that was that.

We lost our caravanning virginity in 2022 and if you’ve read my column over the years, you will know it’s had one or two problems.

I must say though, we rather enjoy it. Yes, the towing is a tad stressful for me and setting the thing up does bring several calls to the divorce lawyer, but when it’s up and working, its fab.

We are due to go away on our first holiday of the year next week, taking the old caravan back down to West Bay and I’ve been looking forward to it.

Lee our ‘Caravan Doctor’ gave the caravan a full service and everything was working. It was ready to go and I had confidence in the knowledge all would be fine.

Now comes the curveball, which is, as always, the way in the Jackson household and probably in one or two others as well.

Sarah is one who is never satisfied. Always looking to improve things. The house is a prime example. Moving furniture around, redecorating, she never stands still.

I on the other hand would leave it as is. Why would I want to move our lounge door to the other side of the wall just to fit a new sofa in?? Crazy woman!

So this caravan looks exactly the same as our old one apart from one thing. At the back of the old one is the bathroom.

There is a lovely shower, changing area, wardrobe, and loo. The new one has sofas and a table which turns into a king size bed. This is what Sarah wanted.

The toilet of the new caravan is on the side now and the rear sofas turn into a bed which can

stay up all week and doesn’t need to be put away each day like in the old van.

We saw it and bought it and now we are heading off to Dorset, not with the old caravan where everything works, but the one I’ve not used before. What could possibly go wrong?
