- By Michelle L. Quinn

A number of display phones were stolen from a Crown Point cellphone store early Tuesday, police said.

Assistant Chief Jim Janda said in a news release that officers responded to a 6:30 a.m. call Oct. 23 at the T-Mobile at 10771 Broadway. They arrived to find a brick had been used to smash the entrance door window and several display phones taken, Janda said.

Upon viewing video sur- veillance, officers saw five men break through the window and grab as much merchandise as they could before driving off in a newer model, dark-colored Nissan, Janda said. The equipment value wasn’t immediately known, he said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Cpl. Ryan Olson at 219-6632131, ext. 279, or the anonymous tip line at 219-63-2131, ext. 265.
