Old-Fashioned Baked Custard Pie

Makes 8 serving slices

Crust:

1 1/2 cups flour

2 tablespoon­s sugar

3/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup oil

2 tablespoon­s milk

Filling:

3 eggs

1/2 cup granulated white sugar

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon vanilla

1 heaping tablespoon flour

2 1/2 cups scaled milk

Directions:

1. Heat oven to 425 degrees.

2. To make crust, mix dry ingredient­s in a large bowl.

3. Mix in wet ingredient­s with dry ingredient­s and form dough to mold into a 9-inch pie pan.

4. To make filling, in a saucepan, combine eggs, sugar, salt, vanilla and flour over low heat before slowing adding hot milk.

5. Pour filling into unbaked pie shell and bake pie in hot oven for 15 minutes before reducing heat to 350 degrees and baking another 25 minutes or until pie filling a set.
