Plans have been unveiled for a major redevelopment of Devon’s Noss-onDart Marina. Premier Marinas, which bought the 37-acre former shipyard in March 2016, has submitted ideas for redevelopment prior to a full-scale planning application. If granted planning permission, Premier Marinas says the new development would be delivered in phases over a five-year period with the marina and boatyard expected to open in 2018. the Aberystwyth coast. Another man was also rescued from the water and treated in hospital.

On 31 August, UK Coastguard received a call from the Aberystwyth harbour master reporting a 4.9m (16ft) speedboat circling in the harbour with no one on board. William Davies from Stevenage was pronounced dead after being pulled from the sea. The men had been fishing and were thrown overboard when a wave caught their boat. Aberystwyth Coastguard Rescue Team, RNLI lifeboats and the UK Coastguard search and rescue helicopter based at Caernarfon attended the scene, alongside Dyfed Powys Police, the Welsh Ambulance Service and a Helimed. The RNLI regained control of the speedboat and it was taken to Aberystwyth Marina.
