Dunkirk and Operation Dynamo

Back in 2005 I took Caronia back to the beaches of Dunkirk for the first time since 1940, when she took part in Operation Dynamo. During World War II Dunkirk was the scene of the mass evacuation of more than 338,000 allied troops who’d retreated in the face of the German advance. The evacuation was aided by the hastily assembled fleet of more than 800 ships.
