Create a burr walnut veneer dashboard

1 Burr walnut is the classic dashboard finish: we bought these leaves of burr walnut veneer from a specialist supplier on ebay. 2 The simple instrument panel was cut from ply in the normal manner after first designing the layout and location for the instruments. 3 It was veneered using the same techniques already discussed and then given about ten coats of varnish. The surround will be covered in contrasting black vinyl. Note how the wheel boss has also been carefully veneered.
