Practical Boat Owner - - Practical Projects -

In my adaptation, I shortened the hinge brackets and each now pivots on a bolt through a separate piece of stainless-steel channel. One channel is fastened to the cockpit coaming and the other to the vertical post of the stern gantry that supports the davits. These pivot bolt positions are equidistant from the edge of the small triangular deck, so that the ladder is parallel to the edge, and small brass chocks on deck and rubbing strake provide additional solidity.
