ORFORDNESS LIGHTHOUSE TO BE DEMOLISHED

The 228-year-old Orfordness Lighthouse on Orford Ness is to be demolished after East Sussex Council determined the structure was unsafe. The Orfordness Lighthouse Trust said the lighthouse’s key artefacts would be preserved during the demolition work. It was decommissioned by Trinity House in 2013.
