Practical Boat Owner

Channel Island 22 group

-

Thank you so much for publishing 'Restoration and recovery' (Letters Mar20) by my son Toby Matthews. Toby is an exceptional young man, and it is unusual to have sustained such a serious traumatic brain injury and yet be able to live a varied and full life.

Sailing has undoubtedly helped his recovery, and he is at his very best after stepping off a boat having been sailing either alone or in a group.

The Gwennili Trust has been very supportive and he has really enjoyed his time at sea with them. Head injury is a hidden disability but has profound effects on one's life, and family.

Toby now has a Channel Island 22, but is aware there is no owners' association. He really enjoyed being a member of the Westerly Owners Association, so we've decided to start one for the Channel Island 22. The new email address for interested owners is: Toby@channelisland22.co.uk

Anyone interested in joining an owners group should contact him and he’ll circulate a few dates for meet ups on the South Coast initially. A website under construction will be live as soon as possible.
