RANKIN REVIVAL
Sixty-one years after the first Rankin dinghy was made in Cobh, a new one has been built from the same mould.
The project by Rankin enthusiasts has rekindled interest in the dinghy class in Cork Harbour. Designed by Eddie Twomey and Eric Rankin in the mid-1950s, the easy-to-handle dinghies – under oar, motor or sail – were an integral part of the Royal Cork Yacht Club.
