CO POISONING
Two men died from carbon monoxide poisoning on a motor cruiser moored to a quay in the centre of York.
An MAIB investigation report into the 4 December 2019 tragedy, found the gas had leaked from the boat’s diesel-fuelled cabin heater exhaust. The Chief Inspector of Marine Accidents said: “A functioning carbon monoxide alarm could have saved lives.”
