Why we stayed at… Camping Jeugdstadion

-

The beauty of this small municipal site is that it takes less than 15 minutes to walk to Ypres’ museums, restaurants and shops. The 22 regular pitches are grass, reinforced with plastic grid tiles. The washblock has separate facilities for men and women, with free hot showers, dishwashing sinks and a chemical disposal point. The facilities are a little tired, but are kept clean. Reception is open 9am-1pm and 4pm-6pm. When it’s closed, you can use a checking-in machine. Just up the road is an Aldi, and it’s only a two-minute drive to a local Spar.

The site is perfectly located for exploring the landscape of the Ypres Salient, which you can do under pedal power: the site also hires out bikes. Its location means this site is always busy, so book in advance.
