6 Brighouse Bay Holiday Park
Of the four holiday parks run by Gillespie Leisure on the Solway Coast, this is the most action-packed and is perfect for a week or two of fun and adventure.
The park has a host of activities, including a leisure centre, swimming pool, Jacuzzi, steam room, fitness room, bowling green, games room, playground, toddlers’ area, bar and a bistro that overlooks the swimming pool. That should keep everyone busy!
If that isn’t enough, there’s also a fulllength and a shorter golf course, a riding centre, quad bike hire, a boating pond and plenty of tourist information, should you find time to leave the site.
Facilities for tourers are also plentiful, with two toilet blocks. The larger one has toilets and showers, family cubicles and a disabled-friendly shower room. The second block is unisex with individual cubicles. There’s also a family bathroom with disabled access. All needs are catered for here.
As much as this park is packed with things to do, there’s also a gentle, relaxing side to it, because the site is surrounded by 1200 acres of countryside – it really is out in the sticks – and has views across the Irish Sea. The peninsula is a wildlife haven and there are plenty of relaxing coastal walks to choose from when the weather’s good.
