Hot weather bodes well for the pastime

NOTWITHSTANDING the hotness of the assorted new models on offer, the talk at various tourer launches this summer was, of course, the heatwave. Prolonged weeks of fine weather made a memorable backdrop to the 2019 season previews – and will help increase footfall to dealer forecourts, as more people consider taking up the pastime. If warmer conditions are the new normal, then having an air-conditioning unit fitted in your caravan is no longer something reserved for those heading to southern Europe in high season or over the winter – there could be a case for having air-con even if you never cross the Channel. Away from the weather, the caravan industry has been busy doing its bit to keep things warm, with some attractive new launches for the coming season – find out more from p62. Enjoy the issue.
